Lash Lift vs Lash Extensions: Which One Should You Get?

With so many great temporary and semi-permanent options to take your lashes to the next level, it comes as no surprise that you might find yourself spoilt for choice. However, sometimes applying makeup can feel like a hassle, especially on days when you’re pressed for time. That’s when semi-permanent options make more sense.

If this is something that has been on your mind, chances are you’ve narrowed it down to either a lash lift or lash extensions. At Lucky Lash & Brow, we believe that both are great options (spoiler alert: either way, you’ll wake up with your lashes on point!) However, it is important to factor in your budget, lifestyle and most importantly, your desired outcome. Read on to find out which option you should go for!

Lash Extensions

Whether it’s natural with a bit of oomph or dramatically bold, you can create all kinds of looks with lash extensions. However, this would be your best option if you naturally have short or sparse lashes, since extensions enable the lash artist to add on rather than work with your natural lashes like how she would during a lash lift (but we’ll go into that later).

Those who are going on vacation, or have huge events lined up, you might want to know that lash extensions would effortlessly enhance your eyes, and they would look great in photos. Also, you wouldn’t have to worry about putting on eye makeup while your extensions are intact – which is basically up to 4 weeks.

However, it takes a bit of maintenance as you might have to use a spooly to brush your lashes in place, especially if you opt for a super dramatic look which involves more strands. Also, you need to factor in topping up your extensions once they start falling out due to your natural lash cycle.

Lash Lift

The lash lift is suitable for those with straight, stubborn lashes that refuse to cooperate with lash curlers and mascara. Psst! If you have naturally long lashes, then this is the lash option you should definitely consider!

By perming your downward facing lashes, you are essentially ‘opening up’ your eyes and framing them with fuller, longer looking lashes. The best part? No maintenance is required and it can last for up to 8 weeks.

Although the lash lift isn’t as dramatic as extensions, the outcome is a brighter, fresher look. Alternatively, you can add on a tint, which basically adds darkness and depth – which keeping your look totally natural.

If all else fails and you’re still not certain, it never hurts to talk to your friends who have done either option before or even consult a lash artist. We’re pretty sure she would be more than happy to recommend what’s best for you!
